You are a manager and are hiring a specialized member of a close-knit toothpaste sales team that is mostly made up of white Midwesterners. The person you are currently interviewing seems like she was born in a foreign country, and you’re a little worried she won’t fit in with the team. Legally, can you ask her whether she is American (2 points)? Why or why not would this be legally restricted (4 points)? What could you ask instead that would address your concerns (6 points)? If you hired this person, what benefits do you think this might bring to the group (at least two, 10 points)? Explain at least two tactics you would use to effectively manage the diversity this would introduce so the team can realize these benefits (at least two, 8 points).
The answers are written according to the part of the questions, First part is answered first in the same order as that of the questions,
kindly refer the solutions below.
1.Legally we cannot ask her the nationality, ethinicity or her race.
2.Tiltle VII of the civils rights act restrict the Employers to ask such questions .
3.I would Give her some sales Pitching assignments to see her whether she could fit in the group or not and accordingly judging the situation i can further address my problem.
4. If she is hired she can definetly add some of her experience which is one of the most important parameter of selection. she could also give a different perspective to the group which can always be benificial to the company.she could also be a part of specific sales group which we can use to pitch in for some targeted customers.
5.The first tactic to effectively manage the diversity is to create a team building activity.which will include all the team members. This tactic will create coordination within the team. We know that to effectively and efficiently move forward the line Coordination within the team as well as department is much much necessary.
The second Tactic is to give proper Diversity Training to all the employees within company and to show them what kinds of benifits a diverse group can achieve.
