List three physiologic mechanisms that protect against UTIs.

Explain how the body produces its own mechanism of protection. Alterations in pH, diet, and drug interactions can alter this normal protection and result in infections

Solutions

Expert Solution

1. UTI is urinary tract infection. The orgamism responsible for UTIs are bacterias, virus, etc. Ou body have some inbuilt mechanisms to prevent the virus or bacteria causing UTI. The three physiological mechanisms that protect against UTIs are bladder with mucin lining, phagocytic blood cells, IgA and perstalic ureters. UTI can cause higher pain with fever, red coloration in urine, etc.

2. Human body consist of a powerful defence mechanism which prevent disease causing bacterias or virus from attacking. Stomach acid, mucous, saliva, skin, etc will act as a barrier and it will not allow the entry of pathogens to the body. Our immune system consist of antibodies, lymphocytes like T cells, B cells, which fight against the pathogens. Poor diet, drug interaction will make our immune system weak. Weak immune system fail to fight against pathogens, therefor proper diet is important to keep our immune system active.
