First, the gastric mucosa is Specifically covered with surface epithelial cells present in the wall . These Specifica epithelial cells will secrete a Very thick mucus that is an alkaline substance in pH; thus it will help to neutralize the gastric acid that is secreted by the stomach .Secondly the , epithelial cells in the wall are connected by a very tight junctions so These cell to another cell adhesions will Specifically act as a very good barrier, so these chemicals or the molecules will not pass through the stomach lining easily.
