Describe one time you successfully persuaded another person (or people) or a time you failed to persuade another person (or people). Explain why you think you were/were not successful using the elements of persuasion. You must mention at least one element of source characteristics, one element of message characteristics, and one element of audience characteristics. Finally, given what we learned in our persuasion, is there anything you would have changed about your persuasive message (i.e., something about the source, the message, or the audience?). Why or why not?
This is the matter how successfully I persuaded another person is once when i was going to temple a man who dont like to go to temple came to me and asked why you go to temple to solve your problems? i answered that im not going to the temple to say my problem but i will be in peace atleast sometime when im in temple better we dont want to say anything as we believe he knows everything so i will be there in the temple to feel myself peace and say some prayers so that i feel refreshed and i think im going to be a new person by hearing this he came with me and told me that "let me check if i also feel like that and with happy he returned from the temple .In other case this cant be happen as they are very right in their stand and they have another believes too.
Source characteristics :- A person or organization sending the message--is very important in influencing how effective the message is. The source must have credibility. The more credible the source, the more persuasive it is. The best way to remain credible is to be honest and accurate all the time. Being liked by your audience is important to being able to persuade them.
Message charecteristics :- Message is the lone aspect over which a writer has total control. You decide what to say and when and how to say it. The best persuasive writing employs both factual and emotional arguments.Although "the medium is the message" may be somewhat exaggerated, it does speak how important it is to use the right channel to reach your audience. Spoken communication is more likely to bring about "yielding," some say, but the written word achieves better comprehension. If you keep your message brief, your target audience will focus on your message, not someone else's interpretation.
Audience characteristics:- First you must know your audience. The decisions about what to say and where to put that message to reach your target will be informed by your knowledge of that target. Remember, audiences tend to forget things, no matter how strong and specific the message is, so you may have to repeat your key point
