Communication issues generally arise in grpup projects in organisations where certain team members fail to understand details. The forming and norming stage of communication process is most problematic as lack of listening and understanding skills make it complex.
Information distortion also occurs when variety of information is put forth which confuses team members and the final goal to be achieved.
This situation can however be handled effectively using following techniques:
Reaching consensus is most difficult however can be made easiest by understanding and listening to divergent views first and assessing which strategy has maximum benefit for organisation or project undertaken.
Post which cost to benefits Analysis or an IRR Analysis can fructify opinions and help reaching common ground by coming to consensus which works best for everyone.
Divergence and convergence of views can juxtapose only through cross functional collaboration and using methodologies like Agile and Scrum where repeatedly meetings are conducted to come to conclusive evidence.
