Dear parents,
I am a new class teacher, Mrs. J. Your daughter S is studying in my class. I have decided to make the child aware of your childhood through your storybooks and types of storybooks you were reading and how it had affected you.
I request you to send a few of your storybooks so that I can make my students aware of reading the storybooks. Nowadays the students are more into watching these stories in an animated form on TVs and mobiles, they do not understand the real meaning of reading and enjoying it. To make my students aware of this positive aspect of reading and learning through stories that give moral lessons as well, I am requesting all my students to bring the storybooks which you have read.
It is a child's psychology that when they see their parent's belongings they try to go through it and I am going to touch there these feelings and make them learn through reading. When once the children bring your storybooks they will be inquisitive to know what their friend's parents were reading, thus there will be an exchange of books and ideas among the children. They will learn to share it and enjoy it; it will develop a feeling of empathy towards those who do not have any storybooks from their parents. The children are very innocent, I am sure I can make them understand the meaning of sharing and enjoying it with friends. They will be happy to know what you were reading.
At home they will ask you questions and wants to learn your feelings, there will new bonding developing in the family and a happy family will create happy and healthy children.
Nowadays bullying is often experienced in schools and classrooms. I expect to teach the students that bullying is very bad, it can harm their friends. The effect of bullying on a fellow student is bad.
I have experienced in my career that those children who are physically well built, from an affluent family or from a politician family often behave as if they are extraordinary and bully the students who are weak, economically not well established or those who do not have any politician support.
The child who cannot face or tolerate it becomes subdued, low esteem, it affects his studies, his health, physically, psychologically and emotionally the child is affected. It can affect his future prospects, and he may develop anxiety, depression and sometimes even commit suicide. To avoid getting bullied in the school they start avoiding coming to school.
These children are noticed taking to drugs, alcohol, and smoking at an early age, and instead of thinking of a career they fall into the traps of antisocial elements.
Thus I request the parents to send their books, I would try to explain to them through these books that bullying is bad it can take somebody's life and spoil his career.
I have put forth my viewpoint on how I want to teach the students through your storybooks. I am looking forward that you would send the storybooks through your ward and cooperate.
With the permission of the management, we are trying this experiment and we expect support from you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. J (Class teacher)
