1.) what are electron levels? Please describe.
2.) explain how the number of protons, electrons, neutrons and electron energy levels are related on the periodic table.
1) Electron levels are the distripution of the electrons in different atomic or molecular orbits around the atom called electron shell. the innermost shell is filled first and then outer shells are filled. Each shell can hold only a certain number of electrons. For example, first shell can accommodate 2 electrons, second 8 electrons, third 18 electrons and so on. This rule is given by 2n2 where n is the number of shell.
2) The number of electrons in a neutral atom is equal to the
number of protons. The number of protons in an atom is the atomic
number of the molecule. The number of neutrons in an atom is the
difference between the mass number of the atom and atomic number of
the atom. Energy of a particlular shell is dependent on the number
of electrons by where n is a
particular energy number. In a charged atom, there is a difference
between number of electrons and protons which can also effect the
energy levels in an atom.
