Is learning a type of thinking?
Thinking and learning are the topics that are closely related to one another. Learning is the process in which a person gathers a set of skills as well as knowledge. Memory can be defined as the expression of the knowledge that has been acquired. Learning could be defined as the process that takes place slowly and with a lot of effort. Whereas, memory is the process where knowledge acquisition occurs fast.
Learning is the process where the existing behaviours or skills are modified. When humans are acquiring new information, the information that already exists is integrated with new concepts where concepts are formed. If a person did not have the ability to think, they would not be able to grasp the new concepts along with amalgamating it with the pre existing concepts. If learning would not be thinking, the concepts that a person would learn, could not be modified in different ways to solve problems. Critical thinking approaches could also not be employed if learning and thinking were not integrated.
Technology impacts thinking behaviour
Today, technology has become an important part of our life. As a result of technology, the thinking and learning processes have become much faster. As a result, the ability to focus on many things at once, has reduced the complete focus on one thing. Unlike the reading that we used to do earlier, in linear fashions, today, people scan the lines such that they would be able to identify the keywords and obtain the smaller bits of information.
