There are many words used to describe online learning delivered via the internet, ranging from distance learning to computerized electronic learning, online learning, internet learning, and many more. We describe eLearning as courses that are distributed to somewhere other than the classroom where the professor is teaching, specifically via Internet. It is not a course distributed over a DVD or CD-ROM, a video tape or a TV channel

It's social in that you can also chat in your class with your peers, peers or other students. Often it is presented live, where you can lift your hand "electronically" and engage in real time and sometimes it is a pre-recorded lecture. There is also a instructor or professor who interacts / communicates with you and marks your performance, assignments and exams. ELearning has proved to be a effective form of education and it is becoming a way of life for many people
