Essay on how tourism impacts the environment
Introduction – Tourism by all means is really important to a country’s economic growth. It also helps a country share their pride, history and history with other countries and it also creates lots of job opportunities. But the other side of tourism is really dangerous to the environment. As more people pour into a country, environmental degradation becomes inevitable.
Threat to the Flora & Fauna - One of the major threats of tourism is that the animals, birds and trees and plants will be affected hugely because of the building constructions that happen in a particular area of attraction. This will force the animals to move back and at one point start attacking the human beings because they won’t have any food or water bodies as their space is occupied by humans.
Increased pollution – The next important thing is pollution in all forms such as water, noise and air. As days go by more people will start visiting the tourist spot and they cause more air pollution through their vehicles, more water pollution as they have bathe or throw the waste everywhere and noise pollution through their vehicles and their shouting thus threatening the endangered species of that area.
Deforestation – As tourism increases, more people will visit the place thus trees will be chopped down thus bringing geographical imbalance causing forest fire, human animal conflict, lack of rain etc. Few people in the name of tourists will smuggle expensive trees thus damaging the eco system.
Conclusion – It becomes one of the greatest responsibilities of the governments to protect their natural resources and environment by regulating the tourist industry and protecting the environment from getting polluted and damaged. Continuous police patrolling, more regulations on the use of plastic, waste management, protecting the water bodies and rare animals, birds and trees etc. will ensure the continuous existence of the country’s environment or else they would go extinct.
