what four skin functions that could stop a person from getting a critical burn, how does that burn stop that function from occurring
Skin functions that could stop a person from getting a critical burn:
1) Thermoregulation
2) Conservation and excretion of fluids
3) Sensory perception
4) protection against mechanical trauma
In critical burn blood vessels may get damaged which constrict or dilate according to outside temperature to protect skin from damage. Blood vessel response may lost which may affect thermoregulation.
Critical burns may damage the sweat and sebaceous glands helping in excretion of fluids . Also damage to blood vessels helping in conservation and excretion of fluids will lead to accumulation of fluid in blood vessels and can lead to infection.
critical burn can damage the nerve endings and will affect the sensory perception of skin and also no response will be generated from that part to the nervous system and accordingly no action will be taken that affected local musculature.
Critical burn damage the layer of cells containing keratinocytes which protect from further mechanical trauma .
