Acromegaly is an endocrine disorder caused due to increase in
growth hormone from anterior pituitary resulting in enlarged feet,
hands, jaw, nose and forehead. It does not cause weighf gain and
cold intolerance.
Diabetes mellitus is caused by increased blood sugar levels due to
impaired insulin secretion or insulin resistance. It is
characterised by weight loss, oliguria and polydipsia.
Cushing syndrome is caused by excess levels of cortisol in body
resulting in high blood pressure, obesity, round face and weak
bones.
Hyperaldosteronism is the increased secretion of aldosterone
from adrenal gland. This results in increased loos of potassium in
urine and metabolic alkalosis.
Hypothyroidism is the decreased levels of thyroid hormones in blood
due to dysfunctyof thyroid gland. Lack of thyroid hormone results
in increased cold intolerance, fatigue and weight gain due to
decreased metabolic rate.
