Good parenting is an important behaviour changing factor for adolescents. Good parenting means building a good relationship with the child. Due to long term neglection, there is lack of relationship between parents and adolescents. It is the duty of the parents to build a good relationship with their child , because adolescent period is the time which children starts relational interests to third party or outside world. Patenting is not just a matter of providing adequate basic and physical needs , but of building a strong foundation in the behaviour of the adolescent child. For that parents must make a commitment to having a relationship with their child . Building rapport will improve the communication between parents and child. Conversation should not be like lectures or preachings.

Friends could be the source of bad influence to our adolescents. But parents should need to watch clearly about their friends. Behaviour of a child can be dependent on this friends and peer groups. Parents should always encourage positive relationships with their children. Always encourage adolescents to get engaged with the communities. Set reasonable limits , while at the same time recognize how important friends are at the stage.

Rules and limits should be done in a caring manner. Always explain the child about the rules and regulations and its importance. The rules and regulations must be with gentle guidance.
