Discuss the standard model in detail and why particle physics is important to astronomy.
Hey there!
Let me give you the chart of the standard model with detail in it.
Well, all that you see and the study which involves it's properties and characteristics comes mostly from particle physics. And so the study in astronomy has a great deal in particle physics as well. The branch of physics that greatly deals with the study of elementary particles and of space origin and study about them is called as Astroparticle physics. It is an emerging field which is undergoing rapid development from it's side as well.
The areas which are under research in Astroparticle physics are particle cosmology, High and low energy neutrino astronomy, High energy gamma ray astronomy and developments in instrument sto research on these fields are also in the creation.
When it comes to particle physics in astronomy it would deal with the high energy particles and their study which would open up the knowledge of the fundamental particles and the origin of Universe. So this may take to the study of Dark matter and Dark energy, which are the areas that are still under research which we don't have enough knowledge about.
I hope the detailing will do... Cheers :)
