What is OSHA?


OSHA stands for Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It is an agency whose main aim is to provide safety and health protection to working people.

The main purpose of OSHA is to ensure that working people in America are getting a safe atmosphere to work, that is, a workplace which is free from all hazards. OSHA conducts a number of programs to assure that workers are working in a healthy,higenic and safety environment.


What is equal employment opportunity?


Equal employment opportunity means employers should treat all employees equally in respective of their caste, age, sex,colour,religion and nationality. It means employer should not discriminate against employees or the applicants on the basis of their age, sex, religion, caste,colour and nationality. By doing this the employer will be punished by law.


What is equal employment commission?


The equal employment commission (EEC) is a federal body of US government, responsible for enforcing civil rights laws that makes it illegal to discriminate against employees/job applicants because of race, colour, age, sex, religion and nationality. The EEC agency investigates complaints filed by employees/applicants about employer discrimination. The role of EEC is to provide faire, accurate and bias-free judgement. If there is any discrimination found, then EEC try to settle it by charging a reasonable penalty. If the issue can't be resolved at their end they have the right to file a case before the court to safeguard the rights of individuals. The EEC also tries to prevent workplace discrimination through outreach, education, technical assistance and awareness programs.
