Explain what it means for a
research study to be justified and grounded in the
literature
One of the major component that make-up a research work is
Literature Review which normally comes as the second chapter after
Introduction. Literature Review helps a researcher in supporting
their research by citing similar works that is present in books,
articles, journals, magazines etc. Almost all the research are
built on previous researches. So, in order to support the current
research, a researcher grounds his or her on the already conducted
research findings on the same topic. The researcher uses his or her
ideas to bridge the gap between the existing researches and the
present research. The researcher can also suggest spot areas where
new research is possible.
Explain what it means for a problem to be original using the Litmus Test as a guide
Litmus Test literally means put to acid test and Litmus Test in research goes with four questions to make sure someone takes a proper research work. One needs to justify the research by stating a proper research question and scope of the research, one’s research should be grounded on the previous literature on the same research, the research need to be original and not a copied or already conducted one and finally it should be scientific with proper evidence.
