The consent decree is a settlement to solve the disputes between the two parties without any case or liability on any of the parties. It is a type of settlement that is basically seen in the United States.

The major elements of the consent decree are as follow:

-the major element of the consent decree is it is a type of settlement that is ordered by the court. This settlement form oh type of negotiation agreement is done out of the court proceedings which is duly signed by both the parties with an agreement or memorandum of understanding or any other type of performance.

-the other major element is is that consent decree can't be breached until and unless one party makes any mistake, frauds or lying or court has Jurisdiction over the settlement.

-if in case there is any e breach of contract by a party, the government and file a lawsuit.
