4. Please explicate job engagement and why it is important for organizational success; also discuss as an example any organization successfully stimulating employee job engagement in a detailed manner. (10 points)
It is definitely correct that behind every successful company, there is a hardwork of their committed employees.
Employee Job Engagement is now a days in great demand. Because it is the key factor for a company to be a successful one. It basically means employees are dedicated towards their work, takes part in every activity or decisions and committed to their job. But it is also seen that many employees are disengaged at their work. This could be due to lack of recognition, poor company communication etc.
It is very important therefore for top management to see their policies as job engagement can lead to better productivity, employee retention and many more. It is also seen that an engaged employee is more likely to be a productive than a disengaged one. Engaged organizations have doubled the success rate than another ones. That is why Job Engagement is necessary.
We can take an example of Google. Its Engagement Strategies includes Managers as Leaders, nurturing innovations, recognition of all and their motivation, culture of Praise etc. In the year of 2006, it came with the plan of transferable stock option plan for their employees and in 2012, they introduced employee death benefits also. Google always believes that recruiting and retaining innovators are their key success factor.
It is also open for social events, races etc. It opens up its strategic decisions for scrutiny. Re cently it given paid vacation to its employee as his child have asked to givr her father some time to spend on a occasion.
Google has High Payroll Expense to Revenue Ratio. And Eventually it leads to success of Google. Every Employee get engaged and the rest is known to all. It has set its own standards and increased its growth rate.
