1.) Compare your own values with the GLOBE's cultural values for the "typical" person from your culture. In what ways are they the same? Different? What might this suggest about intercultural communication?

1. The culture which I live in is the one that is traditional and cannot be called the one that fits a modernized society. I shall cite my father here as an example who is a person that follows all values of our culture with no influence from the modern ones. The ways I find common is that the moral duties and rights are found to be similar across other cultures and that of ours. Difference that I have observed primarily is in the gender equality point by the modern westernised culture and influence of technology in the form of virtual social life which are completely not available with our culture. The mode of communication is quiet similar when it comes to basic needs such as helping others, need for food, shelter, clothing and expression of all basic emotions. The talk with respect to technologies and the one which emphasize the equal importance of men and women are those that do not find any connecting link with respect to intercultural communication.
