Naturalistic observation-

Advantages-

  • natuaralistic observation allow us to study things which can not be control in laboratory settings.
  • we can get external validity for our study in this type of observation.

Disadvantage-

  • It is more time consuming,  
  • Behavior of the subject can be biased if s/he knows that s/he is being observed.
  • the researcher can be also biased from his/her own culture while making the conclusion.

Phenomenological studies-

Advantages-

  • This study is less time consuming and more economical.
  • It contributes in the development of the new theory.

Disadvantage-

  • this is an artifiacial study and more flexible.
  • analysis and the interpretation of this study can be difficult for thr researcher.

Case studies-

Advantage-

  • case studies are very useful to study any specific kind of disease.
  • This study is more economic

Disadvantage-

  • In this study there can be sampling biasness.
  • information from the subject can be also biased.

Archival studies-

Advantage-

  • This study is more economic.
  • the researcher can get much data for his/her study.

Disadvantage-

  • this is very time consuming study.
  • this is also very subjective.

I would like to choose Case study, because my interest lies on qualitaive study and it is little chalanging for me. this study is based on deep knowledge. hence i want to go through this design.
