Solutions

Expert Solution

1. Naturalist observations

Naturalist observations is one of the research methods used by the psychologists. Here the subjects are observed in their natural environment. They collect data required or make observations of the subjects without any laboratory or equipments under natutan conditions.

Advantages

A) It helps researchers to study things that cannot be manipulated in labs due to ethical concerns. For example it would be unethical to confine people to imprisonment to study the effects of imprisonment. Rather one can take actual prisoners as subjects.

B) More accurate Information can be obtained. When there is no influence on the behaviour of the subjects, the date this obtained will be more accurate

Disadvantages

A) Outside Influence : When you are conducting observations in natural environment, you won't have any control over the external disturbances. These many influence the results.

B) Time taking : This way of getting data is time consuming. We have observe for days to get the subject to do the same thing until we get sufficient information.
