Solutions

Expert Solution

1.C Inhibin & Spermatogenic cells

The sertoli cells is localized in seminiferous tubules and helps in the spermatogenesis and formation of sperm .It nourishes the sperm the during development in spermatogenesis. It secretes the anti mullarian horomone, inhibin & activins ,androgen binding protein ,estradiol ,transferrin and ERM transcription factors.

2.a.Follicular development

The FSH hormone released from anterior pituitary acts on the ovary and helps in growth and development of the ovarian follicles. The elevated estrogen triggers the formation of the corpus luteum and produces progesterone hormone during luteal phase of uterine cycle.

3.B.Production of corpus luteum

The FSH and LH released from the anterior pituitary gland triggers the estrogen production and corpus luteum formation named as luteal phase .it occurs after the ovulation phase .

4.a Estrogen & progesterone

THe corpus luteum fomation takes place in luteal phase of uteine cycle and helps in establishing and maintaining the pregnancy. It produces progesterone and estrogen and involved in the development of the endometrial lining and maintainance .

5.If a.Fertilization does not occur, corpus luteum degenerates.

If fertilization of ovum or egg cells doesn't occur, corpus luteum stops secreting the progesterone and causes regression of corpus luteum ,changes into scar fibrous like tissue named as corpus albicans.

6.During follicular phase of menstrual cycle, progesterone concentration is very low.

The follicular phase of menstrual cycle controlled by the FSH and GnRH hormones. The increased FSH causes proliferation of granulosa cells in in developing ovarian follicles and expression of LH receptors present on granulosa cells. The progesteon level remains low in this phase ,it increases upon development of corpus luteum in luteal phase.

7.a.Fertilized ovum will have too much genetic material

The meiosis is necessory mechanism for the efficient sexual repoduction otherwise fertilized ovum will have too much genetic material.
