What are your likes and dislikes regarding communication media such as voice mail and texting? Does the dependency on such media venues impact ones ability to communicate through letters, by phone, or in person?
Likes for the Media such as voice mail and texting:
1. They are prompt, fast and widely spread
2. The message sent doesn't need the receiver to revert immediately
3. The information is transmitted efficiently
4. The medium serves as a written or oral proof of the message provided
5. Easily available and is used on any device
Dislikes
1. The medium solves the only one-way communication problem.
2. The response, if immediately needed, may not be received, as the medium does not requires the other person to be available in order to receive the message
3. The messages are prone to hacking.
4. No security against if an unintended person gets to read the message.
5. Limited space for a message. Not suitable for long messages.
The dependency on such media does not limit a person's ability to communicate through letters, phone or in person as they are only suitable for one-way small message transfer. They can not be used for long conversation and also for two-way information transfer. People will continue to use other media for a specific purpose.
