What role do media technologies play in everyday intercultural
communication experiences?
Intercultural communication means communication between representatives of different cultures, which implies both direct contact between people indirect forms of communication i.e language , speech, media, electronic communication.Media plays an important role in the development of intercultural communication in the era of globlization. the free flow of information, and cultural in dependence are also consequences of our globlising world. communicating across cultural differences is a central challenge of the world . the Media, then has a true mediating role to play in encouraging global awareness.
With the developments in meda technologies, the world is turnig into a small village and cultures and communication tools have begun intertwining by each passing day. The modes, means or channels through which messages are communicated, facilitated by technology to reach a mass audience. Enhanced mobility, economic interdependence and advancement in technology bring people from diverse culture, socioeconomic, linguistic and social positions together, creating opportunities and challenges for intercultural relationships. The usage of different forms of advanced technology can either wealen or strenthen the cultural identity of different nations and greatly impact the way they are percieved in an intercultural community.
