What are ways to grow antibiotic-resistant organisms and how can you measure their antibiotic resistance

Solutions

Expert Solution

Antibiotics resistant bacteria can selected over growth in minimal medium with specific antibiotics on it. So that only that bacteria will grow in this growthedium which are antibiotics resistant which can be selectively pick and can be used for further study.

We can measure there Antibiotics resistant by using antibiotic disc method. In this method, bacteria lawn is grown over LB agar medium on which sterile paper disc with different conc. Of antibiotics was added and zone of inhibition can be measure once bacteria grown after incubation. More zone of inhibition which means more higher is the conc. of antibiotics while less or no sensitive which means antibiotics is in very less concentration at which it is not inhibiting bacteria.

Hope it's clear..thanks
