How does antibiotic resistance develop?

What complications can occur from antibiotic
resistance, both in humans and in livestock?

Should we decrease the use of antibiotics in humans and livestock animals?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Ans.. antiobiotic resistance is the mecahnism by which bacterial inhibit the bactericidal or bacteriostatic effect of antiobiiticain them.development of antiobiotitic resistance is on genetic basis.mutation in the bacterial popukation are always there.some of the bacteria posses the gene which produces some changes in the bacteria which can protect it from effect of antiobiotic.this effect is unknown until the harsh condition arises.in the harsh condition like use of antiobiotitic all those bacferia which has mutation to provide them antiobiotic resistant properties will survive and othee will die .its just like the process of natural selection and survival of the fittest.

Complications of antiobiotitic resistance..

Compromised therapy of infection

Serius complication for elderly and children

Increased lenth of therapy and more doctor visit

Prolonged hospital stay

Increased cost of treatment

It a major threat to public health.

The major cause of antiobiotic resistance now a days is the unncessaunn use of antiobiotic drugs.Doctors are prescribing antibiotics for almost all disroder even for some which they r not required.unneccsary use of antiobiotic should be stopped.another reason is failure of complete therapy by patient.patient leave antiobiotic before the sehulule which is also deveoping antibiotic resistance.so encourage full coarse of antiobiotic
