The specialty of healthcare is that it can be considered as a service sector as well as industry. The industrial aspect of healthcare is always dependent on the service aspect. It becomes more profitable as the quality of service improves. My dream is to make the healthcare industry the most profitable one by providing quality services. Quality service means lower mortality rate, quality healthcare for all, eradication of epidemics, etc. In my opinion, when there is a pandemic or epidemic spreading because of lack of vaccination, unavailability of vaccines and medicines, and almost 10 million infected and millions dead and countless people in deathbed, healthcare has lost whatever it has gained. Healthcare has lost the reputation and trust it has gained through the years by the relentless effort of many providers who even lost their lives in the process. I want to make the healthcare regain its trust and reputation by becoming ever prepared and be ready for any pandemic or any threat to the population. This is the biggest issue the healthcare industry is facing today and it can be addressed by the preparedness to face any casualty.
My long-term career goal is to become a professor of healthcare administration after getting a doctorate in the subject. My short-term career goal is to put 100% effort and do my level best in whatever I am assigned to do. I intend to reach there by climbing rungs of the career ladder doing my level best. I can work for information technology, human resources, patient services as well as clinical services such as cardiology, gastroenterology etc. I can apply for jobs like Clinic Administrator, Health Information Manager, Social Welfare Administrator, Insurance Underwriter, Consulting Healthcare Administrator, etc.
When working on a project that is due in 30 minutes, I will complete it even if I have to stay back after 5 pm. Project timeline and finishing the project in time is really important when working on a project. So working an extra 30 minutes would not be a hurdle in the way of successful completion of the project. Finishing the project in time is as important as working tirelessly for the successful completion.
The last time I have failed in completing a project in time was thesis completion as part of my graduation. Because of several unavoidable situations, I could not complete the interviews with people participating in the project. This delay in interviews delayed the completion of my project, which was based on community study. I had to put extra effort into completing the project within the extended time that was allotted for the project upon my request. Though I got extended time, I learned a lesson that finishing a project in time is as important as the effort put in.
