Leadership is most discussed subject in corporate world. It is not only responsible for success or failure of an organization but also shows direction to an organization for its possible future. True leaders in business organization try to bring positive change at workplace by surpassing strategic hurdles. Such challenges may be arise from internal operations, external market forces or posed by immediate competitors in the marketplace.
Two key leaders named Mr Jeff Bezzos (Amazon) & Elon Musk (Tesla) are my favourite leaders in modern days of American business and corporate world. Let us, describe their leadership in separate headings as follow,
Leadership Characteristics of Mr Jeff Bezzos:
Bezzos is known for his hard work, innovation, accepting challenges, motivating people working for him and most important a man of word for many stakeholders. His orientation towards providing quality services to American and rest of world has been occurred in the form of Amazon prime. Initially, he was a book trader (In true sense) but through his vision converted b the same into product selling, book selling, publishing, cloud business etc. One of the qualities which we can say that lies with him still today that is focus on co creation.
Leadership Qualities of Elon Musk:
Elon musk was known for his love for innovation and making some different image of his business in USA and world business. People used to say that he has visionary leadership qualities to transform Tesla, space X etc to greater heights. He has shown strong commitment for achieving his promised solar Cars and other higher quality innovation. He supported Tesla’s research, production, operations and development of strategic global operations.
Leader’s orientation towards formulating and implementation of strategies:
In the above leaders, we can easily observe that they not only though, plan, design an innovative business models but also created strategic direction of their business organizations. In true sense, this is scanning of business environment (both internal and external environment) so as to formulate strong capabilities in business operation in a highly competitive world. This offers them a competitive advantage.
Strategic implementation will be based on reducing the threats and challenges posed by immediate competitors. One more important leadership quality is that leaders used to motivate people associated with their model, theory and ideology. In such a sense, leaders are most valuable factor for creating sustainable corporate level, business level (SBU level) and operational level strategies. In toady’s, world, Leaders have orientation towards an integration of people, planet and profit ( Triple-Bottom line ) into their business organization.
Hence, we can say that leadership development must be focused for future value creation and to be in existence for each business organziations of the world. Leadership should be given open space to be developed in successors of different Job profiles .
