Traditionally, when companies think of marketing and communications, visions of broadcast (TV, radio, etc.), print (magazines, newspapers, etc.); telephone (sms marketing, telemarketing, etc.); direct Mail (catalogues, postcards, etc.) and outdoor (billboards, fliers, etc.) dance in their heads. But today brands cannot feed customers with boring content anymore. The techniques of selling that we apply today heavily rely on the infamous four P’s of marketing: product, price, place, and promotion. The social media marketing may look different than traditional marketing in a big approach as it is all about the fourth P: promotion. The world is changing, and technology is taking the lead; and social media is today the new arena of digital marketers.
When I am have to choose among different available social media platforms my choice will be Facebook. Facebook has brought a whole new approach of personal marketing to the world of business. The social networking Web site allows users to create personal profiles with information such as their educational background, hometowns, work, favourite things, and religious affiliation. I can use it to target very specific audiences with personalized messages. The greatest strengths of Facebook are it has the world largest user of all over the world and all age people like Facebook; and intensifying its reach to all kind of people. Moreover it provides tons of features and numerous platforms. It provide photo sharing, status, video calling, photos, video sharing, personal chat, group chat, make your own fane page, also Facebook don’t have any annoying adds that’s why so loads of people are attracted to Facebook. The website has created the platform where customer can discuss the product and vendors like me can also grab opportunity to spread the brand awareness.
YouTube’s easy accessibility, free service, and opportunities for sharing have provided a great platform for sharing consumer-generated content. I can also use twitter. The best reasons for me to do marketing through social media is that the customers are spending time on these websites therefore the targeted consumers will be more receptive to the messages when marketing through these routes.
