Brain function and it’s anatomy
The physiological task of the brain
is to obtain information from the other parts of the body, where it
would interpret that information and the body would be guided to
carry out actions with the interpreter information. This results in
providing response. There are number of inputs that the body has,
and this ranges from being light, pain, door or sound. One of the
vital functions of the brain is maintainence of blood pressure
along with controlling the cells and organs by releasing hormones.
There are different sections of the brain, which are known as the
cerebellum, the cerebrum, the diencephalon as well as the
brainstem. All of the sections have different functions:
- Cerebrum: this is the largest of
the sections of the brain that carries our speech, along with
maintains the senses as well as the emotional responses. There are
various lobed in the cerebrum, and these lobes are the temporal,
frontal, parietal as well as the occipital.
- Cerebellum: the cerebellum is
attached with the brain stem, this would control motor functions as
well as maintains the balance and interpretation of organs coming
from the sensory sites. The brain stem carries our functions of
blood pressure, respiration an some reflex maintainence and changes
happening to the body in the flight, fight or fear responses.
- The diencephalon: this is present
inside the cerebrum and is located above the brain stem. The
functions include control of food intake, sensory functions, and
maintaining the sleep cycle of the body. It consists of the
hypothalamus, the wpithalamus and the thalamus.
