critically analyze police brutality using the conflict theory
Answer:
Conflict Theory was proposed by Karl Marx which states that a
particular society is always in a state of perpetual conflicts
because of competition which would be there to utilize the limited
resources present. It also assumes that social order is maintained
only via domination and power rather than mutual consensus and
conformity.
If we consider police brutality which is there in many countries
specially US it also coincides with conflict theory according to
which, if a person is not following the law, he/she should not be
given second chances and lesson should be taught to them by
dominating and punishing them so that it should never be repeated.
Although it has not proved to be so much fruitful if we see the
crime rate over past few years.
This has further deteriorated by police targeting persons of a
particular race mostly black community assuming all of them are
culprit which created unrest in public about the injustice cause to
them. Many movements are run parallely against Police injustice
which made this issue even more crucial to get rectified.
