conscious leadership is bringing one's whole self and with total awareness to your leadership position.
conscious leaders have high analytical, emotional, spiritual and systems intelligence. they also have orientation toward servant leadership, high integrity and a great capacity for love and care.
characteristics of conscious learship :
1. TRUST : It is marked by a genuine commitment to authenticity and purpose, built over time based on actions, not just words.
2. ACCOUNTABILITY : do what you say you are going to do and hold people responsible for performance, efficiency and deliverables.
3. LOVE & CARING : behave in ways that are thoughtful, gentle, considerate, and compassionate.
4. TRANSPARENCY : Being open and honest helps trust to flourish and creates a less competitive, more teamwork oriented environment.
5. INTEGRITY : It is doing what is right at all times, being fair, authentic and exhibiting moral courage.
6. LOYALTY : If people feel cared about, they will be more loyal to your organization.
7. EGALITARIANISM : everyone is treated with respect and dignity.an open-door policy allows team members to communicate with even top leadership in an informal way.
LEADERSHIP THEORIES:
TRAIT THEORIES : emphazise on traits and qualities of a leader that leads to their effectiveness. this theory doesnot establish the common traits needed for all leaders to be succesful. this theory also doesnot explain the instance of leadership failure even if leaders posses therequired traits.
this theory only focused on the traits like confidence, charisma, knowledge to bea effective leader.
BEHAVIORIAL THEORIES :
this theory identify specific behavior of leaders that lead to be succesful. they demonstrated taskoreineted behavior, people oriented behavior, and makind decisoins using authoritarian styles or democratic styles.
these specific behavior produced differnt result in different cicumstances so a valid list of common behaviors cant be stated to be a good leader. they give more importance to situvational factors than the characteristiscs of a leader.
IMPORTANCE OF SELF AWARENESS : self-awareness is the ability to be self-observant in the moment of what one is thinking, feeling and how those internal processes are translating into behavior.
The self-aware leader understands that every decision made reflects an inner process that must be conscious.The self-aware leader knows what he/she knows and knows that they don’t know. self aware leaders understands the necessity to provide ongoing development for his/her employees.
SELF CONCEPT : collection of beliefs about oneself . failing to realize is change is not just about changing behavior; ultimately it is about transforming being.
leader should understands that the constellation of his/her behaviors reflects their inner state of being. The winning strategies relies on two things: unconscious actions and self-deception. concious leadership demands deep commitment and disciplined practice.
EMOTIONAL INTELLEGENCE : capability of individuals to recognize their own emotions and those of others.
the conscious leader needs is to learn more about how to be intimate in her/his relations with people and emotions is the foundation of all relationships for a leader. conscious leader should not be Refusing to express regret and express gratitude.
