Solutions

Expert Solution

i) Intrinsic satisfaction is derived by an employee when he/she accomplishes a task at work to the best of his/her ability. Such a sense of fulfillment is felt by the employees when they find their work meaningful and commensurate to their intelligence and experience. Therefore, in order for HR to implement a motivation system that gives intrinsic satisfaction to its employees, the system should be designed in such a way that everyone is given a job profile that is in line with their capabilities and experience. The employees should find the work purposeful and should feel valued in doing so. For example, when an employee can deliver a project that he/she is interested in, within the given deadline, he/she will feel an intrinsic satisfaction.

ii) In order to implement a motivation system with economic rewards, HR should first devise a clear and transparent reward system. Such an economic reward system should have realistic and reasonable targets for rewards. These rewards should also be proportional to the effort required to achieve those targets. Only then will the employees be sufficiently motivated to work for the rewards. An example of such an economic reward system is when employees are gifted with monetary compensations, bonuses, or gift cards for achieving their goals.

iii) HR can implement a motivation system based on social relationships is by developing a work culture that promotes teamwork and camaraderie among the employees. The goal and targets set by HR should emphasize on large scale cooperation among the employees and cohesiveness. HR should also ensure that employees are not pitted against one another and that they don't feel like competing in a rat race while working. An example of social relationship motivation system at work would be employees celebrating the success of one another and of their teams at work.

iv) A work environment motivation system can be implemented by the HR by ensuring that the workplace is a safe place to work in. There should not be any social discrimination, sexual harassment, or physical violence at the workplace. Any complaint regarding such violations should be immediately addressed by HR. Furthermore, the workplace should always promote stress-free work culture and an environment of creativity and harmony among the employees. An example of work environment as a motivation system is when employees get to be innovative and creative at work and they have proper work-life balance.
