What forces currently work against globalization?

Solutions

Expert Solution

There are different forces that work against the globalization. The first force is protectionist forces that like to protect the domestic infant industries or industries that are not so competitive in the international market. These forces give arguments to save jobs and work in the domestic level and oppose globalization. It is the interest groups, industry associations and other pressure groups in the countries to operate and resist the globalization drive. The second type of forces are ant-globalization militants who have chosen the path of armed conflict to represent their views and oppose globalization. These militants are the groups who consider globalization to be the threat to the democratic process in their own countries. It makes them oppose globalization so that exploitation of resources by the outsiders is prevented. Such groups are present in countries like Spain Poland and Italy. The third type of force is the anti-globalization movements running mainly in African countries where globalization has not helped economy to improve . Rather, globalization has become a source of exploitation, conceding ownership of vital natural resources and economic rent culture taking place in their country. So, people driven anti-globalization campaigns are working as a force to oppose or roll back the globalization.
