How does the process of socialization influence our values and beliefs regarding sex/gender, sexuality, race and/or ethnicity, and aging? Which of these areas do you think deserve the most attention in terms of organizational, political, and economic disparities in the United States today and why? How does prejudice and discrimination based on sex/gender, sexuality, race and/or ethnicity, and aging affect workplace communication and diversity in the workplace?

Influence of socialisation on sex, sexuakity, race and aging: As we grow , we learn how to behave from those around us. At a very early age, children are introduced to certain roles that are typically linked to their biological sex. The term gender role refers to society's concept of how men and women are expected to act and how they should behave. These roles are based on Norma, or standards , created by society. In American culture, masculine roles are usually associated with strength, aggression and dominance while feminine roles are usually associated with passivity, nurturing and subordination.

With regards to sexuality, socialisation in the U.S. and western countries most notably adheres to heteronomativity , or marking of hetrosexuals unions as normal and homosexual unions as socially abnormal and deviant. Religion, law and media are three primary agents of socialisation that teach people how to behave secxually . One learns from society how to express one's sexuality. As such sexual expression is part of socialisation the lifelong process of inheriting and disseminating norms, customs, and ideologies and providing and individual with the skills and habits necessary for participating with in one's own society.

Influence of socialisation on race: Race socialisation is defines as specific verbal and non verbal messages transmitted to younger generation for the development of values, attitudes , behaviors and beliefs regarding the meaning and significance of race and racial stratification , intergroup interaction.

Aging and socialisation: research has found that social support can play a significant role in overall health as propel age.

In my opinion gender requires the maximum attention in united States
