What is organisational strategy? What is its role in organisational design?
The term strategy means an art of planning future action plan for some specific purposes to achieve, these purposes generally be the long term and complete aim. Now if you see this from an organizational point of view it means to make a plan or to strategize your actions for achieving some pre-set targets which are prolonged growth, organizational success, or some specific success. Strategic plans can take a minimum of 1-year plan to get the sought result, it also demands a collaborative and level wise involvements. Higher management creates and looks after the organizational strategy whereas middle and lower management tries to adapt as per the need to fulfill the success.
The Organizational strategy and Organizational design are interlinked, as the design ensures a detailed articulation of Organizational strategy in a-way. It is the design part which takes care of providing an actual and tangible plans and structure. It is via design the leaders can actually expect to see some prototypes. If downsizing is the strategy, the organizational design in it will figure out which portion or department or section to trim. When we have to introduce a new business, the organizational design figure out all the perspective WHO, HOW, WHERE, WHAT part of the problem. It generally answers all these questions. When these are doe the businesses draft these implementations or changes so that everyone clearly understand the plan and strategy so as to behave accordingly.
