As the Big Data ecosystem takes shape, there are four main groups of players within this interconnected web. List and explain those groups.

Solutions

Expert Solution

The groups are given as:

  • Data devices and the sensorset collect data from different locations and continuously generate new data about this data. For each gigabyte of new data, an additional petabyte of data is created about that data.
  • Data collectors include sample entities that collect data from the devices and users
  • Data aggregators make sense of the data collected from various sensorsets or Internet of things. The companies find different usage patterns collected by government agencies, retail websites, etc.
  • Data Users/Buyers are the groups which finally benefit from the data collection and aggregated by others in the chain.

So this week we learned about the four V's of Big data - Velocity, Volume, Veracity and Variety. As we know the velocity of data can vary so does it affect the other three V's? How are they affected? Also same if there are changes in other or one of the V then how are the rest affected?
