Oral Presentation: Discuss concerns that may arise with oral presentations. What can be done to assist in eliminating those concerns.

ORAL PRESENTATION

It is a formal type of self expression to a group of people on a certain topic based on proper research and planning.Oral presentation are generally supported by slideshow,visual aids and other materials which enhance the presentation.It commonly use in companies,NGOs,Colleges,schools etc.It is a organise way to do a formal talk by first introducing oneself and then delievering the content with the help of skills such as voice modulation,eye contact,hand movements,use of gestures,questioning. so,that the listener stay focused and lead to active participation.

CONCERNS THAT MAY ARISE WITH ORAL PRESENTATIONS

1.Lack of confidence due to lack of preparation which will lead to failure of the presentation.

2.Lack of adequate supporting materials such as powerpoint presentations or other aids.

3.The speaker may not be aware of  the equipments,sometime the speaker come with full preparation but don't know how to start in the equipments kept in the venue.

4.Language barrier- sometime what the speaker wants to communicate may not be understandable to the listener due to the language difference or some barrier.

5. Less interactive- this concern arise when the speaker presents his content with less interactive methods such as lecture method where he is just speaking passively without using hand moments,gestures,smile,voice modulation this leads to a boring or uninterested presentation.

6.Not listening to others opinion or not engaging them into the talk.

7.Speaking too much on a certain topic without keeping the time in mind,this problem arises due to lack of planning and time mangement.

Ways to assist in eliminating these concerns.

1. Whenever the speaker is going to present the content he should prepare well by doing rehearsal in front of mirror or with friends and finding the area of improvement.

2. Visual aids or other material should be there as a support and should be design in an attractive way which will attract the attention of the group.

3.The language usage should be according to the audience to whom you are going to address so that they can understand and will lead to removal of language barrier.

4. few days before the speaker should test the equipments and rehearse with them so that he can become familiarize with them.

5.The speaker should use smile,hand movements,voice modulation and questioning in between so that the presentation not become boring.

6.Speaker should provide opportunity to others for expressing and knowing their views too,which will help in active engagement of audience and make the presentation more resourceful.

7.Time mangement- the speaker should do proper planning that how much time should be allocated to every point so that no point can be stretched to maximum and can be finished in the alloted time.
