Sensory processing disorder is a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses.

  • people with sensory processing disorder are oversensitive to things in their environment. Common sounds may be painful or overwhelming.
  • Others with sensory processing disorder may be uncoordinated;bump into things;be unable to tell where their limbs are in space;be hard to engage in conversation or play.
  • Some people seems to be unresponsive to anything around them. They may fail to respond to extreme heat or cold or even pain.

Acute stress disorder(ASD) is a mental health condition that can occur immediately after a traumatic event.

  • A person with ASD may experience negative thoughts, sadness, and low mood.
  • The person will experience insomnia and other sleep disturbances, difficulty concentrating, and irritability or aggression, which can be either verbal or physical. The person may also feel tense or on guard and become startled very easily.
  • Person will have altered sense of reality, a lack of awareness of the surroundings, and an inability to remember parts of the traumatic event.
