State the Etiology, Prognosis, and Complications for Acute stress disorder and Fractures.
Answer:
Acute stress-
Etiology: a. Danger of death to any individual or any loved one.
b. Suffering by a serious distressing or traumatic event.
c. Dealing with natural disasters.
d. Experiencing any sexual assault, rape or domestic disputes.
e. Suffering from terminal illness.
f. Sustaining any moter vehicle accident.
g. Any type of business or financial loss.
Prognosis: a. If signs and symptoms of acute stress continues for more than one month in that case it will directly affect on the patient's daily life activities like; lack of daily activities, lack of encouragement, lack of happiness, sadness, etc.
b. In about 50% cases acute stress can be cure within 6 months, but in some cases it can take approximately one year to be cured.
Complications: a. High risk for mood disorders
b. Can lead to substance abuse disorder or alcohal dependance syndrome.
c. Neurological problems like; migraine or dementia.
d. Also can suffer from depression and anxiety.
e. Less eating and suicidal thoughts.
Fracture-
Etiology: a. Road traffic or motor vehicle accident
b. Accident related to playing games.
c. Bone weakness lack of calcium in the body as well as diet.
Prognosis: a. It depends on the nature, severity and bone that is fractured.
b. It also depends on the immunity or healing power of the patient because these both plays an important role with fracture.
c. Prognosis of fracture also depends on the age of the patient because in old age the bones usually takes long time to heal.
d. Fracture healing process usually takes more time to provide patient's their optimal functioning.
Complications: a. First of all there are main three complications of fracture as follows...
(1) Delayed union: Fractured bone takes more time to heal.
(2) Malunion: Wrong connection of fractured bone.
(3) Non-union: Inability to heal of fractured bone.
b. Joints rigidity or stickiness or stiffness.
c. Fractured bone wound infection due to lack of aseptic dressing.
d. Obstruction in bone growth due to childhood bone fracture.
e. Bone death (Avascular necrosis) also can be there due to lack of proper blood supply.
f. Bone dislocation due to improper bone attachment.
