What does “education” mean for Wollstonecraft, and what role does it play in relation to gender?
Mary wollstonecraft was a believer in women education. She believed that women should not marry too young. They should study well and aid themselves in the process of becoming good mothers and wives. She used to write at the times of 1700 when it was very difficult for the women to get education. If they got the chance to be educated they were taught cooking, sewing, and courtsying etc.
According to wollenscraft education was a tool for women to escape the position of disbalance in the education. She wanted equal opportunities for women to study as men used to get. She wanted women to learn intellectualism and moral. So that women can be as equal in position in society as men.
She wanted gender work and opportunities equalities. And wrote several articles in the 18th century to develop this feeling of need of education dor women.
