(Answer) It is important for people to first understand that both the male and female genders have their strengths and weaknesses. Inadequacy in any one gender should be met with compassion and help from the other gender. Essentially, our biological differences, weaknesses and strengths should not be considered synonymous with our status in the society.

If any single gender is repressed in the society, the opposite sex would immediately make themselves open to the same conditions since they would have weaknesses too. If this ideology were better comprehended, society wouldn’t have gender stratification. However, this concept hasn’t completely influenced the framework of the society.

Gender stratification can be noticed when men tend to be a majority in managerial positions, opinion leaders, political places and decision makers. Representation should adequately cover women, people of colour, ethnic minors and men as well. It is true that a position should be filled by a person who merits it. Although an opportunity to better oneself intellectually and professionally should be given to all.

As a result of stratification, decisions, legislature and even the overall dynamics of the professional spectrum tend to be inconsiderate of women. The concept of a “man’s world” would be further enforced and would further perpetuate stratification.
