Consider a 10Mbps Ethernet network consisting of 20 nodes interconnected by a bus topology with a single bridge placed in the approximate centre of the network resulting in an equal number of nodes on each side of the bridge.
a) Briefly explain why collisions can/cannot occur.
b) If two pairs of nodes attempted to communicate at the same time, discuss the throughput they can achieve.
Ethernet networking using bus topology
in 10Mbps Ethernet networking consisting of 20 nodes interconnected by bus topology in bus topology uses coaxial cables to interconnecting of nodes
a) Briefly explain why collision can/cannot occur
SOLUTION:
can occur collision
collision can occured because when two or more nodes in a network to attempt to transmit data over a network same time and loss the data and not finish the transmission
cannont occur collision
SOLUTION:
CSMA/CD is a network protocal for carrier transmission in the medium access control layer is used in Ethernet topology to avoid the collisions in networks
Therefore the nodes must detect if they are transmitting at same time as another node and so they stop and try again when first node transmission completion than another node transmitts the data thats points of time cannont occur the collision in a network no losses the data
b) if two pairs of nodes attempts to communicate at same time,Discuss the throught they can achieve
SOLUTION:
Two pairs of nodes attempts to communicate at same time achieve throught Full Duplex Mode it means sender and reciver nodes communicates simultaneously means at same time communication is possible betweeen two nodes using Full Duplex Mode
