what is meant by network topology
Answer-
Network topology is a schematic description of the arrangement of the physical and logical elements of a communication system network. Or we can say, network topology is the pattern in which nodes (eg, computers, routers, printers, or other devices) are connected to a LAN (local area network) or linked to another network (for example, optical cable , copper wire cable or twisted pair etc).
Type of Network Topology
Topology is classified two types of Network Topologies - physical
and logical. The physical topology is based on the physical layout
of connected devices and nodes, while the logical topology is based
on the pattern of data transfer between network nodes.
Physical Topology - Physical network topology refers to the actual connection (wiring, cable, etc.) to how the network is organized. Its setup, maintenance and provisioning tasks require maintenance in the physical network.
Logical Topology - Logical network topology is a high-level consideration of how a network is set up, in which nodes connect to each other and in which data is transmitted through the network. Logical network topology can also include any virtual and cloud resources.
