ANSWER :
Three types of nutrition :
1)AUTOTROPHIC NUTRITION :
- In autotrophic nutrition organisms synthesize their own food
from the low energy inorganic raw materials(CO2 and H2O) from their
spurroundings without depending upon other organisms
- Autotrophic nutrition result is glucose formation
They are of 2 types :
- a)Photoautotrophs : uses photosynthesis as source of energy.
Example : plants and green bacteria containing chlorophyll.
- b)Chemoautotrophs : uses chemosynthesis as a source of energy.
Example: non green sulphur bacteria
2)SYMBIOTIC NUTRITION :
- In symbiotic nutrition organisms get nutrition by
mutualism
- Two organisms get their nutrition from each other
- Example : Rhizobium bacteria lives in the roots of leguminous
plants . Rhizobium gets nutrition from the plant and plant gets the
nitrates for its growth from rhizobium, as rhizobium fixes
atmospheric nitrogen into nitrates
3)HETEROTROPHIC NUTRITION :
- In heterotrophic nutrition one organism depend on other
organism for its food or nutrition
They are of 3 types :
- Holozoic nutrition : In this organisms ingest complex food into
the body , digest it and absorb the simpler form of food produced
after digestion. Example : Humans , lion etc
- Saprophytic nutrition : In this organisms digest the food
outside the body before ingesting by secreting digestive enzymes on
to dead and decaying matter and then absorps the simpler form of
products obtained. Example : houseflies , bacteria, fungi etc
- Parasitic nutrition : In this organisms live in or on the body
of another organism to get the nutrition.Example: Round worm ,
tapeworm, plasmodium etc.
