What is your experience as a reader? Do you read for fun? What do you prefer to read? What is the last thing that you read? (Remember: This is your space, so write freely. Do you actually really hate reading? That's fine! Just make sure to write at least 300 words.)
" READING gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are "
- MASON COOLEY.
Reading means not only to read books, that are related to your subject, but reading is also more than that. Reading includes anything and everything, it can be a magazine, novel, article, newspaper, or journal. Reading daily is one of the best habits one can possess. Yes, I do reading for fun.
Studies show that reading for pleasure makes a big difference to children’s educational performance. Likewise, evidence suggests that children who read for enjoyment every day not only perform better in reading tests than those who do not but also develop a broader vocabulary, increased general knowledge and a better understanding of other cultures.
In fact, reading for pleasure is more likely to determine whether a child does well at school than their social or economic background.
I like to read novels and some inspirational articles. It develops your imagination and provides you with a fortune of knowledge. Last thing I read a novel. It was a kind of romantic one. But it does not matter the content of reading, matter is how are you reads, regularly? not regularly? with concentration etc. Reading books or anything has definitely brought good changes in us such as :
1. Mental Stimulation: Just like any other muscle in the body, the brain requires exercise to keep it strong and healthy, so the phrase “use it or lose it” is particularly apt when it comes to your mind.
2. Stress Reduction: A well-written novel can transport you to other realms, while an engaging article will distract you and keep you in the present moment, letting tensions drain away and allowing you to relax.
3. Knowledge:
4. Vocabulary Expansion
5. Memory Improvement
6. Stronger Analytical Thinking Skills
Books are your best friend is rightly said as reading helps build up your confidence and uplifts your mood. Once you start reading, you experience a whole new world. Parents are the most important educators in a child’s life – even more important than their teachers – and it is never too early to start reading together. They can make a habit of reading in their children. When you develop the habit of reading you eventually get addicted to it. Reading can help you grow and give a new perspective on life. Reading also inspires you to write and one can fall in love with writing as well. If we want to adopt some good habits in life then reading should definitely be at the top of our list. It plays a vital role in the optimistic growth and development of a person.
The pleasure of reading cannot be expressed in words. One needs to read to experience the joy of reading.
