How does management in nursing practice differ from
management in general?
What tasks are common to both leadership and
management.
What are the major leadership styles? Which style is
optimal to use in which situation?
(1 ) Management in nursing practice focus on things in ensuring the nurses are coordinated in functioning well with the most advanced skills and knowledge.The management are in the levels of matrons , nursing director,nursing superintendent,nurse managers. They frame the required terms and conditions, policyfir the upliftment of the nursing future.Whereas management in general oversee the performance of these nurses and whether they stick to the organisatio's rules and regulations ,assessing their contribution in patient care and thus improving the quality and standard of the organisation.
(2) The task which is common for both the management and leadership is working towards the goals.In management planning is initiated in orders to achieve the task whereas the leadership makes the employes to work towards the task.
(3) Some of the common leadership style are
-The leader acts as a commander and employees has to follow it
termed to be authoritative leadership style (used in preparation of
material, products)
-In autocratic leadership style the employee are supposed to do
what the leader say(used in preparation of certain products)
-Involvement of the employees in decision making and freedom to
work is categoried to be democratic leadership style(used in most
situations)
-Laizzes Faire leadership involve the employee to work in
accordance to their convenience(used when workers are in high
stressful working environment)
-Certain leaders coach the team categorised to be coach leadership
style(to train for a specific task or performance like
sports)
-Transformational leadership motivates others to work towards the
goal (useful innalll situation)
-The involvement of rewards for achievement and punishment for
wrong deeds is transactional leadership style
