  • Learn self monitoring of glucose.
  • Watch for any allergic reactions
  • Always have oral sugar substitute if patient experience frequent hypoglycemia
  • take diabetic diet as advised
  • pen insulins should not be shared even if its needle has been changed
  • Wash hands before taking injection
  • clean the injecting site thoroghly before self administration of  insulin to prevent site infection.
  • use proper method of administration
  • always look for medication appearence,ie;cloudy or change in colour
  • Regular follow up to have change in doses.
