User- generated content is any form of content that is created by end users or customers about a brand or product.
Generally, when we (i.e. the consumers or end users) take purchasing decision, we are more likely to trust a fellow consumer who uses the product rather than a brand. We are more likely to take recoomendation from friends or family members than brands when it comes to making buying decisions and that where the concept of user- generated content arises.
Use of UGC has grown significantly in the recent years due to rise in social media platforms . But the most benefit of UGC is that it helps an individual to trust a brand when he/she gets review from real customers on such brand.
For example, now-a-days we can see posts and reviews of brands shared by individuals in social media which helps or makes the other consumer their purchasing decision easier.
Even some popular video steaming site uses UGC to promote fans' posts about specific shows and movies and hashtags the title to help spread the world about new shows or premieres.
