Identify 2 implications loss of taste sense could have for individuals regarding diet and nutrition and provide 3 methods of how this activity will help you relate to older people in real-life situations?
Though it does not sound extremely concerning but loss of taste sense can have some major bad impacts on individuals regarding diet and nutrition. A couple of these are -
i. People with loss of taste can not identify the presence of sugar or salt in the food and hence end up adding too much sugar or salt to make it taste better. However, too much sugar and salt in the food can bring home some major health problems like diabetes and hypertension.
ii. When people with loss their sense of taste, they no longer enjoy eating and hence eat lesser than our body requirements. This can lead to severe weight lose and nutritional deficiencies and can lead to depression.
For the second part of the question I did not quite get which activity it is refering too. But if it refering to the loss of taste, then yes it is very relatable to the older people in real life.
i. They do not have taste buds like our generation and that is why they do not enjoy food any longer like we do.
ii. Most of the people losses weight significantly in the older age due to their lost appetite and will of having delicious food like us.
iii. We see most of the older people with conditions of diabetes, blood pressure, nutrition deficiency, depression and so on in almost every society.
